Khartoum – Following what is being covered from the international community, the continued massacre of civilians in and around Equatoria region and Upper Nile, and in absent of good wills to end the conflict and nationalize the army and the other security instition, it isn’t a surprise that National Ministers quites their luxury hotels and stand with their people.
Hon.Gebriel Duop Lam, Minister of Labour, Public Services and Human Resource Development has quite and rejoin the SPLM in Opposition under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar who has been held in South Africa in a bid to isolate him from the politics and affairs of South Sudan.
“Without wasting much of your time, ladies and genttlemen of the press, I, Lt. Gen. Gebriel Duop Lam, the Minister of Labor, Public Services and Human Resources Development in the Republic of South Sudan, with sound mind and excellent rule of reasoning, do hereby resigned from the position as being the minister of Labour, Public Services and Human Resources Development in what so called partial government of National Unity with effect from 17 Feb, 2017 and from there I reaffirm my full allegiance to the SPLM/SPLA-IO under the wise leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, Chairman and C-in-C” Hon. Lam said in his resignation later.
He is expected to make a press statement sooner or later depending on the suitability of the place and time to do so.
Hon. Duop was a minister under the ticket/token from SPLM-IO and when clashes erupted in July in Juba, many were trap in hotels and couldn’t move out leading them to fearfully submit their allegiance to Taban and the government.
