SPLM-IO to hold a consultative briefing this Sunday in Khartoum

Khartoum – The SPLM in Opposition under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar is set to meet this Sunday 18, August 2016 in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, for the first time since the eruption of the war in Juba which led to the cracking of SPLM-IO political wing, with most of its top political leaders surrendering to the leadership of President Kirr on pretext of representing the SPLM-IO and implementing the raped peace agreement.

Most of the SPLM-IO top political leaders including Mabior Garang and Dak Duop Bichiok among others have already arrive in Khartoum ahead of Sunday meeting.

This comes as Machar’s health improved following the fateful ’40 days’in the run between Juba and the DR Congo border.

In a briefing during a fundraising gathering organized by Lou Nuer Women in Khartoum, Mabior Garang Mabior, the SPLM-IO Public Relations Chairperson told the gathering that they are meeting on Sunday with the Chairman.

This meeting will find a way forward for the betrayed movement to survive and get back to its knees once more.
