SPLA and SPLA-IO to joins hands and “fight against anti-peace elements” in Raja: Spokesperson

Juba – The SPLA has issued a statement regarding the evolving situation in Raja after it’s alleged that some armed group overrun the town, forcing the governor and the deputy governor of the controversial Lol State to flee in disarray.

The group have not yet come out to tells who they are and the objective of their fighting since SPLA-IO seems to be having no clue about the group.

The Spokesperson of SPLA, Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, said in a statement that the attackers are repulse and being pursued in a mopping operations though several sources said earlier that the group are still in town and all the road leading to the town.

Lul said that the SPLA and SPLA-IO are for peace and will fight any person who is a anti-peace in the Country.

“SPLA-IO top military leadership agreed to fight against SPLA forces against anti peace element” ~ he said

Critics says this is an attempt the faction of President Kirr in the TGoNU is trying to manipulate the situation in their favor to avert any chances of those forces declaring allegiance to the SPLA-IO.

This has also proven the previous government’s stands that there are no SPLA-IO forces in Greater Bahr el Gazel which was once a big issue as the goverment was saying there was no one to be cantoned in greater Bahr el Gazel.

The SPLA-IO have not yet responded or commented publicly on this latest development. attempts to reach them for comment wasn’t successful.
