SPLM-IO demand for lifting of ‘state emergency’

Kampala – The chairman  of SPLM-IO and the commander in chief of the SPLA Dr Riek Machar Teny met with president of Uganda Yoweri  Museveni i,e in an attempt to thrash out all the hurdles that are impeding the implementation of   peace agreement,  this is first visit of  opposition leader to Uganda since the outbreak of war in south Sudan.

According to the press statement extended to Wangdunkon Media on Tuesday, the two leaderS discuss uganda’s role on peace implementation which Dr Machar sign August last year with president Salva Kir and other political parties. they also touch on region peace and security.

The other issue discuss is controversial  28 state and how it’s in violation of peace agreement, the lifting of state emergency which he said, remains as an impasses to restricting the movement of  advance team is also on the agendas.

Last week Mabior Garang  The chairman of information & public relation in SPLM-IO release press statement accusing top security agency of preventing advance team members who were schedule to seek  medical  abroad.

Meanwhile members of SPM-IO delegation were earlier attempt to be block in Juba to travel to kampala, although they  leave and reach Kampala on monday.
