SPLM-FDs nominate Deng Alor for Foreign Affairs ministry

Juba – The SPLM former detainees also known as G-10 have nominated Deng Alor Kuol to take up the ministry of foreign affairs which the group selected during the ministerial allotment done last week by the parties to peace agreement.

The nominations comes amid the deadline by JMEC for the parties to submit their nominated ministers as the formation of TGoNU is due on the 22 of this months.

John Luk Jok, the former justice minister and a also a member of the FDs, have been nominated to take up and the ministry of transports, one of the two ministries the FDs selected as provided for in the peace agreement.

Both the goverment and the SPLM-IO have not submitted their list as scheduled to meet the deadline.

Deng Alor was the then Sudanese Foreign affairs minister from 2007 – 2009 replacing Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin who assumed the office right after the CPA in 2005.

Following the the independence of South Sudan, Alor served as an interim Foreign affairs minister 26 days from 10 July 2011 until 26 August 2011 before President Kirr replaced him with Nhial Deng Nhial.
