Peace Ambassador welcomes SPLM (IO)’s move to send Advance Team to Juba

Addis Ababa – An Ethiopian-based South Sudanese Peace Ambassador, Mr. Gatwech Koak Nyuon, has welcomes the step taken by SPLM in Opposition for agreeing finally to send its advance team to Juba as part of implementing the peace agreement sign in August this year.

“I welcome the decision made by South Sudan warring factions to start implementing the Peace. Sending 550 cadres from SPLM-IO means a lot. It shows that they are open for Peace to come” ~ Mr. Nyuon said in a press release imparted to Wangdunkon Media

He also “appreciate the Government of South Sudan under Leadership of President Kiir for taking care of 550 cadres while spending sometimes in Juba” pointing out that “Their safe return from Juba will send a signal to the World that the Juba Government is for peace”

The advance team has been delayed as goverment want to know more information about those comprising the team, citing that their safety and security would be arranged based on the knowledge of who is in the team

“In my capacity as a Peace Ambassador, I would like to express my gratitude to IGAD-Plus and other stakeholders for the roles they have been playing to bring the crisis to an end” ~ Gatwech further continue adding that “Peace can not be forced but a process to be realized while trying to implement it”

“I would highly welcome if the team will get chance to meet people under UNMISS protection sites in Juba or all over South Sudan and tell the IDPs that we want peace for them to start the reconciliation, forgiveness and healing” ~ concluded the peace Ambassador
