Juba – Ateny Wek Ateny, the Press Secretary of the president said the establishment order No 36/2015 that split the country’s ten existing states into 28 states will never be reversed “because this order is under prerogatives of the president and it will be operational in due date when president is ready to appoint new governors and state legislative assemblies”
The establishment order was rejected by the opposition and all the political forces in the country. They criticized the decision taken by Salva Kiir’s govt for infringing the terms of agreement that based on 10 states.
Ateny yielded the opposition leadership that if they are not ready to come to Juba for the implementation of the agreement because of 28 states “then they will stay longer in bushes” he said.
The advance team of opposition has been rescinded because of the recent move by Kirr’s goverment forwarding the creation of 28 states to parliament for approval, thus totally contravenes the compromise peace agreement.
The move has caused major setback in the implementation of the agreement signed by the warring parties. The opposition leadership accused government of violation, hence appeal to IGAD mediators to pressure salva Kiir to withdraw the order so that agreement signed is implemented based 10 state.
