SPLA (IO) denounce an anonymous letter claiming relieve of Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, the rebel CoGS

Addis Ababa – The SPLA (IO) has strongly denounced and condemned a letter circulated on social media by an anonymous source claiming the SPLA (IO) Chief of General State (CoGS) Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual has been relieve from his position by the Chairman and C-in-C of the SPLM/A (IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon

In a press statement imparted to Wangdunkon Media, the SPLA (IO) Spokesperson Col. William Gatjiath Deng strongly denounced the letter, pointing out that this is a propganda from the regime in Juba who want to create crack in the movement.

“I strongly denounced and condemned the fake claim posted by unknown source that our Chief of General Staffs, 1st Lt Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual Hoth has been relived. That is a baseless propaganda made by Juba intentionally to create crack among the movement” Col. Gatjiath said

“1st Lt Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual Hoth, has not been relieved by the Commander in Chief Gen. Dr. Riek Machar Teny as claimed by the enemy. He is a highly respected General who is committed to the cause of the people of South Sudan. Moreover, he is now leading his team in the ongoing negotiation on the Security Arrangement in Addis Ababa Ethiopia” continued Gatjiath.

In the letter seen by Wangdunkon Media on social media, it appears forged with the dates on it contradicting; the signature date is 31-Oct-2015 while the issuing date is February 6, 2015.

Hundred and hundreds of SPLM/A (IO) supporters and sympathizers have reacted angrily pointing fingers at Juba regime calling them “enemies of peace” with others pointing hands particulary at Amb. Gordon Buay Malek, which they call Chief Propagandist for Juba regime, to be behind this anti-peace propaganda.
