Bor – The Caretaker governor of Jonglei State, John Kong Nyuon, has cautioned the Bor community who have been through extensive celebration over the recent Presidential decree of dividing the states which give greater Bor their own state.
The Governor, in a gathering organized by the community in Bor town, cautioned the Bor community to take breath while dancing advising them that “they may break their legs.
“Don’t dance too much, because you may break your legs” ~ John Kong was quoted saying few days ago in the gathering.
Some political analysts says John Kong’s advise is based on the status of the order which is seen to have more bottle neck to reach its implementation stage and, therefore, celebration should be lower till such a time that we are sure of its final implementation commencement.
Poeple believes that the decree may be halted and put for further consultation with the communities as its status quo has caused great concern and rejection from other none Dinka communities, other political parties and as well as the main armed opposition faction, the SPLM/A in Opposition
The decree is based on tribal division of the Country and annexation of other lands to other communities and the case in one of many, is Malakal which is historically owned by Shilluk and now proposed or said to go with Dinka.
Raja has been annexed to Lol State, a breakaway state of Northern Bahr el Gazel State. Anuak kongdon is also divided between Eastern Bieh and Boma states and met the community’s rejection.
