Social Media: S. Sudanese’s reaction to Pres. Kirr’s decree of 28 states creation

Social Media – The South Sudan social media commentator have reacted in different ways with majority remaining very cautious about the move especially when it comes to budgetting and demarcation of the proposed states as there are no existing borders ever created before.

Here below we go one after another!

“Of All the decrees of President Kiir Mayardit, this is by far the dumbest of all. How the hell do you unite a divided country by further dividing it through ethnicization of governance” ~ Kuir E Garang, an author of books  and a political commentator.

“So much for ‘One People, One Nation’ nonsense! 28 states? So Riek’s 21 states Joke has been plagiarized into Reality by a government that has no ideas! I think President should just pack up and leave”  Kuir E Garang continued

“Just because Dr. Riek created 21 states doesn’t mean that general Kiir has to create 28 states to appear the best leader. It doesn’t work like that” ~ Daya Batim Moses, an activist and a political commentator

“It is quite clear now that any peace agreement signed in Addis Ababa shall never survive the test of its implementation” Steve Goi Gatluak, refering to the decree as a violoation of Peace Agreement signed between the two warring parties more than a month ago

“Kiir should not abrogate the constitution, the agreement with ten states is signed and sealed. Anything else we meet in the constitutional making process. Implement ceasefire and we start from there” ~ Nathaniel Pierino, a member of the SPLM (IO) and a politicians

“28 States, a clear and an absolute dishonor of Compromise Peace Agreement. What is the essence of creating more states and under what circumstance should such states exist when in the agreement, there known only 10 states ~ Gatluak Khot Keat, a commentator on social and political issues, a medical graduate.

“If salva kirr failed to lead only 10 States, what makes him think he will manage 28? ~ Nyalilit Batim Moses inquired

“Allow me to show my appreciation to a man who has done the right thing last night, yesterday I wrote that peace deal means nothing to citizens but good news to selfish leader’s” ~ Daniella Velentino Wuol, a string supporter of President Kirr’s goverment especially of social issues and bitter enemy to Dr. Riek Machar as a person, according to her.

“The decree is a solid declaration of War as manifested yesterday when Kiir Forces and his allied Militias attacked all the rebel control areas in Unity State and our forces only responded in Self-defense to act of provocation” ~ Paul Opio Both Wityian, a law graduate and a political commentator living in Uganda. He is a member of SPLM (IO)

“It’s undeniable fact that President Salva Kiir Mayardit copied and pasted the ideology of 21 states policy from Dr. Riek Machar dairy/journal. Kiir should have accepted federalism at once” ~ Sirir Gabriel Yiei Rut, A law student, a political commentator who have extensively written several articles, an activist and youths leader living in Cairo wrote in his article he wrote about this move

“The creation of 28 states by dictator Salva Kiir is highly welcome. This is what majority of South Sudanese have been yearning for. However, the creation of these states will not persuade people that are against his tribal government” ~ Khor Gal pointed out

“Twenty what states? Is President Kiir outmaneuvering or simply copying Riek Machar? Part of or separate from the peace deal? How many states will be assigned to the rebels: still 2-3? Interesting? alarming” ~ PaanLuel Wel, a blogger, a journalist and a political commentator.
