[dropcap]S[/dropcap]outh Sudan – The government of South Sudan under President Salva Kirr Mayardit have been accused of multiple and continued atrocities targeting civilians in different states and days consecutively.
Detention, killings and torture is reportedly being practice till date by goverment soldiers and the Security Service in different places including Juba, according to our sources.
“They are continuing taking people from their houses even in Juba to be killed and torture. This is not the army we should call a national army” ~ A source speaking on condition of anonymity imparted to Wangdunkon Media
The SPLA (In Opposition) has also reported some of the cases they have received from their sources from different local as highlighted below:
Upper Nile: A woman have been killed and two other people wounded in Deteng village of Makal County, Upper Nile State. The civilians were shooted at while trying to cross the river to get to the UN PoC north east of Malakal town.
Unity: Government troops made an “assault” on Pulguori village of Leer County where civilians were recieving food ration from WFP and its partners on the ground. According to the SPLA (IO) and as verified by Wangdunkon Media, the SPLA (IO) responded and manage to repulse the attackers and no casualties on civilians have been reported.
Eastern Equatoria: Five ordinary civilians were arrested by the National Security forces and taken to unknown location. No reason have been given so far as to what leads to their arrest. the five arrested are currently still under arrest and no one knows whether they are slaughtered or alive. SPLA (IO) Said “they had been falsely accused of supporting the rebels”
The arrested are identified as 1. Daniel Lokale, 2. Lonyia Daniel Lomogin, 3. Julies Erot, 4. Joseph Lovern and 5. Angelo Lominit, according to the SPLA (IO) Spoke person Col. William Gatjiath Deng
