[dropcap]A[/dropcap]ddis Ababa – The leader of the Country’s armed opposition Dr. Riek Machar has arrived Addis Ababa after concluding the Khartoum trip where he met with the Sudanese President First Marshal Pres. Omar Hassan Albashir and Ugandan President H.E Yoweri Kagutta Museveni.
The meeting between the three was all about realizing peace in South Sudan with President Bashir discussing with his Ugandan counterpart on issues to do with restoring the diplomatic relation between the two countries, disarmament of the Sudanese militia forces who have been fighting alongside Salva Kirr’s goverment among others.
However, Machar in his part discussed with Present Museveni among others the withdrawal of Ugandan People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) who have been fighting the armed opposition alongside goverment troops under Pres. Salva Kirr in South Sudan.
As per the peace agreement, the Uganda troop should leave the Country within 90 days of the pre-transitional period.
Machar after arriving the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa said he is proceeding to South Sudan’s Fagak town where the Headquarter of the armed opposition has been put.
“I have arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Khartoum this afternoon and will be proceeding to South Sudan, pagak” ~ Machar said on his official Facebook page today
Machar is expected to meet his top military and political leaders in laying out the foundation for implementation of the recently signed peace agreement in the Country.
