[dropcap]A[/dropcap]ddis Ababa – The President of South Sudan H.E Salva Kirr Mayardit is expected to sign the long awaited IGAD-Plus peace comprise agreement to end the over 20 months long conflict in the world is youngest nation.
In a letter imparted to Wangdunkon Media, “the IGAD Secretariat present its compliment to the ministers of foreign affairs of its members states and has the honour to inform the later that as per information received today from the office of H.E the president of The Republic of Kenya, through the office of H.E the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the agreement on the resolution of the conflict in the Republic of South Sudan will be sign tomorrow, 26th August, 2015, in Juba, South Sudan”
The IGAD plus representative, through an invitation from the IGAD secretariat, are expected to come to Juba with today and tomorrow morning to witness the signing ceremony of the peace agreement which mark the signature of the final peace deal in the Country.
“The secretariat of IGAD wishes to take this opportunity to request all IGAD Plus members to send their respective delegation to Juba to witness and attend this long awaited historic moment” ~ part of the letter reads.
It’s not yet clear whether some SPLM (IO) representative will also be present during this peace signing ceremony in the Country’s capital Juba.
Inquiring on why Kirr is to sign the agreement in Juba instead of Addis Ababa, an inner sources within the office of the President revealed to Wangdunkon Media that Kirr is very much concerned about the disappointment of some of his top politicians as well as Generals including the Chief of his General staffs Gen. Paul Malong Awan.
And as such, “he think that if he go and sign peace in Addis, we never know what Malong and some of those politicians could do as they are disappointed with Kirr’s intention to sign peace agreement with the rebel” ~ revealed the source.
